Energy and Water Ombudsman appointed Land Access Ombudsman

31 August 2018

The Office of the Energy and Water Ombudsman Queensland congratulates our ombudsman Jane Pires on her concurrent appointment as the new Land Access Ombudsman for Queensland, commencing 3 September 2018.

The role of Land Access Ombudsman is in addition to Ms Pires’ role of Energy and Water Ombudsman. She remains committed to delivering a high-performing dispute resolution service for energy and water customers and stakeholders.

The Land Access Ombudsman is a new government-funded dispute resolution service that will work with landowners and resource authority holders resolve disputes about alleged breaches of conduct and compensation agreements and make good agreements.

The new service is expected to commence operation on 14 September and will operate independently of EWOQ.

Please contact the Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy for more information about this new service. For media enquiries, please call (07) 3119 8263 or email media@dnrm.qld.gov.au.
