What to do if you're facing disconnection

Are you having trouble paying your electricity, gas or water bill and are facing disconnection? Read on for our top tips about what to do and how we can help you.

Act quickly

Contact your electricity or gas provider as soon as possible if you:

  • have a problem paying your energy bill
  • receive a disconnection notice or
  • have already been disconnected.

If you’ve lost power, first check with Energex or Ergon Energy to see if there’s an outage in your area.

If you’re struggling to pay your water bill, contact your water provider immediately. Although your water can’t be disconnected, your water flow can be restricted. Read more about water supply restriction.
